Mr. Cooper is seeking a senior level DevOps/Cloud Engineer to join the team who has the skills and proven experience architecting and troubleshooting solutions in Google Cloud Platform. This position will work across all lines of business and collaborate with multiple disciplines to deliver scalable and reliable platforms.
What You Will Do:
As a Principal Google Cloud Platform engineer, you will provide leadership in the areas of Infrastructure design and automation, service operation, delivery, scale and observability by practicing the following:
Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
Scale systems sustainably via automation and evolve systems by advocating for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
Participate in incident response and blameless postmortems.
Prior experience (2-5 years) with Google Cloud
Prior experience (3-5 years) in a Production Engineering or related position.
Proficiency in a Compiled Programming language as well as Bash, Python or other scripting languages.
Knowledge of Linux operating systems internals (e.g. filesystems, system calls), and with networking (e.g. subnetting, firewalls).
Knowledge of CI/CD best practices and tooling such as Azure DevOps, CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.
Experience delivering automated infrastructure using Chef or Ansible and Terraform (Rightscale a plus).
The know-how to safely and effectively deploy containerized applications/microservices into Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
Familiarity with monitoring/logging platforms like New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, ELK, etc.
Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
Strong problem-solving and effective communication skills.
Working knowledge of Azure and AWS a huge plus!
Experience with machine learning.
Leadership and teaming skills to help coordinate cross-functional teams focused on product delivery.
Ability to work with APIs and Plugins to integrate tooling into established Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
