This position will report up to the Shared Services Controller. The Manager, Accounting will manage and direct a team in the day to day execution of the Accounts Receivable function for billing, cash application and collection processes across multiple business units. The incumbent will coordinate with other functional areas to gather required information and resolve questions or variances in a timely manner. The incumbent shall collaborate with various staff across multiple departments and business units in the performance of daily activities. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining internal controls and processes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Active management over Personnel, Operations and Process related activities

  • Direct responsibility for billing, cash application and collection processes for multiple business units.
  • Drive integration of acquired businesses with a goal of creating efficient and consistent processes.
  • Identify, recommend and drive process improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and report on key metrics, leveraging offshore team when possible.
  • Create and report on SLA’s for critical processes that focus on both timeliness and quality.
  • Ensure that potential collection issues are escalated as appropriate.
  • Manage resource to ensure adequate staffing and cross-training of tasks.
  • Track, prioritize and drive progress on open projects and tasks.
  • Review and approve journal entries, GL account reconciliations and monthly bad debt reserve calculations.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with both our internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Support SOX, Audit and Compliance as required.
  • Willingness to be flexible with work time when workloads are high
  • Assist with special projects or other tasks as assigned by management

Core Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience including 3+ years in AR
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • Mortgage industry experience a plus
  • Workday experience a plus
  • Essential Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Order-To-Cash processes and solutions
  • Professional written and verbal communication including ability to prepare and give presentations
  • Effective decision-making skills based on sound judgement and business knowledge
  • Ability to adapt easily to changing priorities and job responsibilities
  • Ability to manage people, processes and operations with minimal guidance
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment, showing substantial leadership skills

Experience working with and troubleshooting interfaces between systems

Strong aptitude towards utilizing, supporting and learning multiple applications / systems
