Job Summary:

The Sr. Desktop Technician creates, maintains, and secures Windows operating systems for physical and virtual systems in Mr. Cooper and leads resolutions for more complex technical issues. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. The position utilizes one-on-one consultancy to end users Mr. Cooper IT staff. The position’s responsibilities require independent analyses, communication and problem solving. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain Windows images for physical and virtual systems.
  • Use SCCM and Intune to create and deploy application packages to endpoints, and provide management with reports detailing status on these deployments.
  • GPO administration for Desktop and Windows Virtual Desktop OUs.
  • Deploy monthly Windows patching and provide status reports to leadership on status.
  • Drive team to fully exploit products such as SCCM, WAIK, PowerShell, and other tools to manage and maintain the Desktop environment efficiency
  • Provide escalation technical support and issues resolution for the Desktop environment
  • Drive product assessments and POC initiatives
  • Participate in Change Management and Problem Management calls.
  • Drive automation by utilizing scripts and tools to automate procedural tasks
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by Management

Core Competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred. Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • MCP and/or A+ certifications are preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Service Desk for End User support position
  • Advanced experience with Windows 10 OS troubleshooting and deployments
  • Experience with SCCM or MDT for OS / application management and deployment
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting knowledge is preferred
