The Sr Underwriting Specialist is responsible for identifying, measuring, controlling and monitoring the risk for Production Underwriting. Monitors underwriting defect trending at both the individual and global level and implements remediation plans to ensure defect rate remains at an acceptable level. Resolves audit findings on mortgage loan files based on internal and/or Agency/Investor guidelines. Relies on highly advanced underwriting knowledge to resolve escalated loan files, solve complex loan issues, and enact innovative solutions to resolve loan manufacturing quality defects. This role is a key driver in ensuring that the company defect rate is at an acceptable level.
