This role is within Enterprise Risk Management team (ERM) and will be responsible for Risk quantification, mitigation and data analysis for Mortgage Origination and Servicing lines of business. Will work with Business Lines, Finance and Risk teams to aggregate and analyzes risk related metrics, create projections, adverse scenario analysis to quantify potential risk, evaluate financial impact and present analysis to management.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage and collaborate with direct reports on various risk team initiatives and projects.
  • Create what if analysis, stress tests and projections to show impact of various risk scenarios and their quantification.
  • Use statistical methodologies to create and track tolerance limits for risk related metrics as identified by the risk team.
  • Conduct independent deep dive analysis, identify adverse trends, understand financial metrics and key risk indicators.
  • Develop SQL queries/ stored procedures to retrieve data for analysis, reports & projects.
  • Perform ad hoc analytical requests and research projects for internal parties.
  • Aggregate and track risk metrics from other corporate functions (finance/treasury/credit risk/secondary markets) to explain underlying patterns using supporting data and insights; create summaries and presentations for senior management and risk committees.
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships and build partnerships within  review area to ensure mutual understanding of risks and exposures

Functional Job Competencies:

  • Good understanding of Loan Origination/ Loan Servicing processes 
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, be highly organized, and work independently
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects at a time and meet deadlines

Experience and Education Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in mortgage industry Loan Originations background preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, accounting, finance, economics, or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced education such as Master’s degree preferred
  • Hands on financial and risk analytics experience, exposure to financial ratios, forecasting, capital markets functions preferred
  • Hands on data mining skills, using SQL, SAS or similar tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, expert user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
