ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The ideal candidate will have the background experience (or similar applicable experience) to carry out the following position responsibilities:
Desktop Compliance/Risk Assessment and Management. Will work with current and prospective vendors to gather information and documentation needed to “certify” the vendor as meeting Nationstar, regulatory and investor requirements. Will use the information gathered from the vendor to conduct the evaluation of the inherent risks associated with working with the vendor or service. The information gathered will be used to examine the controls established to manage the risk and assessing the effectiveness (by assignment of risk score) of those controls. The result will largely impact how (or if) a contract relationship with a vendor should still be pursued and/on continued. Will make key recommendations to Sr. Level Management regarding this.
Regulatory and Compliance Oversight. Will have to maintain a very strong knowledge of the many regulatory (CFPB, OCC, AG) and investor (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae) requirements and ensure “certification” that each vendor meets those requirements as applicable.
Certification Document Review. Must maintain a strong technical knowledge of basic legal and regulatory requirements necessary to adequately review and interpret vendor certification documents and determine if they meet regulatory, investor and Nationstar requirements. These will vary by vendor and service but may include such documents as vendor’s SSAE18 SOC 1 Report, Information Security Policy and practices, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Plans, required licensing, required insurance, and any other required document.
Remediation Case Management. Proactively execute the necessary actions needed to manage the identified risks associated with new and existing vendors to ensure they do not negatively impact Nationstar. Take actions to remediate elevated or high risks issues as swiftly and effectively as possible.
Vendor Setups and Reconciliations. Manage the setup of vendor records in the vendor database, AP system and ensure proper approvals in place. Reconcile vendors paid to the approved vendor list and research any discrepancies identified.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
What level of education or specialized training is required to perform the job?
High School diploma or equivalent required.
2-5 years of direct professional experience in a contract, sourcing or procurement or vendor risk management related position, preferred but not required.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in the Financial Services industry; Mortgage Servicing experience a plus.
