JOB SUMMARY

The Business Operations Analyst I will be responsible for partnering with the Business Operations team to identify, document, cost justify, test and implement productivity improvements, cost savings, compliance initiatives, quality assurance measures and system upgrades.

Scope/Responsibilities:  Beginning of professional career path; learning to use professional concepts and skills. Has ability to take initiative on projects potentially outside scope of work. Responsible for follow-through of one or more processes. Highly capable of serving as first impression of Mr. Cooper to external and internal customers, vendors, agencies and investors. Trusted to manage time, priorities and resources to achieve goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop ad hoc reports to help the business understand current operational performance
  • Pull data and perform first-level operational analysis to determine opportunities to optimize effectiveness and efficiency
  • Work with Senior Operations Management to understand data and analysis, allowing them to make suggested improvements based on recommendations
  • Utilize tools, such as Visio, Excel, Access, Sequel Management Studio and CMS reports to mine data and present solutions in an organized, professional way
  • Coordinate with other analysts to put proper reporting metrics in place to measure quality and productivity results
  • Clearly communicate analytical results to appropriate audience
  • Perform ad hoc analysis for operations to help them understand their business better

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Education & Professional Experience: Bachelor's degree and typically does not require previous professional level work experience. Mortgage and Financial Services experience a plus. High school diploma or state accepted equivalency is required.
  • Leadership/Hierarchy:  Operates under close supervision. Effectively builds strong relationships with team and manager. Generally goes beyond the basic requirements and work performed adds value to the organization. Occasionally generates new ideas to problems and solutions. Open to the creative suggestions of others.
  • Level of Decision Making:  Work is routine in nature with very little authority for decision making. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to perform required work assignments.
  • Individual/Customer Impact:  Decisions and actions have impact on success of team, department, business line and/or client. Scope of work impacts team and business unit. Routine customer interaction that requires strong ability to build and manage relationships. Meets the requirements and expectations of the customer; acts with the customer in mind.
  • Communication:  Possesses clear and professional verbal and written communication skills when used both internally and externally. Effectively presents accurate information to varying audiences.
  • Technical Proficiency:  Proficiency with MS Office with particular emphasis on MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Exposure to mortgage-specific software; accurate reporting with introduction to data analytics.
