The role of the Loan Modification, Senior Associate is to ensure that Service Transfers are completed timely and that all reporting requirements are satisfied with MHA. In addition, this role provides execution, oversight and validation for manual letters, document ingestion and other reporting functions. The purpose of this position is to ensure that any workouts initiated with the prior servicer are identified and completed within 30 days of acquisition/borrower initiated review.

**The work schedule for this position requires 3 days in the office, 2 days will be remote.**

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Validate loan files for completeness and accuracy, ensuring workout reviews and applications are dispositioned within timelines daily.
  • Manual front-line underwriting of conventional/conforming loan products.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with current mortgage and compliance laws and regulations.
  • Determining and documenting loan conditions and communicating requirements and/or decisions.
  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable underwriting guidelines by completing all underwriter training programs, learning any business unit policy and/or guidelines.
  • Analyzing credit documents, including, but not limited to, mortgage applications, credit history and income documents, title documents, appraisals and all applicable compliance documents.
  • Highly collaborative and capable of making independent decisions and proposals using information available.
  • Has direct meetings/relationships with varying levels of staff management to accomplish initiatives.
  • Identifies portfolio risks resulting from the client's underlying business practices, underwriting, and/or fraud exposure.
  • High producer with attention to quality.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

Core Requirements:

  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course work in a related discipline is preferred. A high school diploma or state accepted equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior customer service, underwriting, collections or loss mitigation related experience required.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and software skills necessary for job function
  • Microsoft Access, SharePoint, and Excel
  • Exposure to mortgage-specific software, such as LSAMS and/or Remedy

Work Schedule Requirements:

  • Work schedule: Required to work 3 Days in the Office, 2 Days will be Remote
