The HR Business Partner is responsible for providing support to the business in alignment with Mr. Cooper culture, policy/procedures, and best practices in the functional areas of HR, including but not limited to recruiting, performance management, rewards, etc. This position is responsible for day-to-day human resources functions in the areas of employee relations, coaching and counseling and performance management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Advises and guides management in HR best practices and ensures consistency and adherence to company policies and applicable employment law.
Provides operational HR consultation and support to management.
Responds to unemployment claims, gathers supporting documentation and completes relevant forms.
Reviews, consults, and makes recommendations to management regarding various HR related matters such as: performance management, leaves of absence, promotions, terminations, organizational design, job documentation, and salary administration.
Reviews, conducts, and documents employee related investigations.
Administers exit interview assessments and quarterly summary reporting
Develops and presents various HR related training programs.
Prepares and delivers reports based on the needs of the organization (e.g., recruiting, turnover, etc.)
Presents various HR related training programs
Leads and assists on department projects and other initiatives
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Bachelor’s degree; Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred. Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job. High school diploma or state approved equivalency required.
Minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience, with progressive HR experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience in communicating and building relationships with front line managers to be viewed as a trusted resource for advice and guidance.
Track record leading moderately complex projects and/or HR programs.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, dealing with some intangibles and ambiguity.
Expertise with commonly used concepts, practices and procedure within HR body of knowledge, including state and federal employment law.
High level of energy with results orientation.
Good influencing and problem solving skills
PHR/SPHR Certification a plus but not required.
