Principal Project Manager

The Project Manager(PM) is accountable for assembling the project team, managing individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing project plans to ensure timely completion. The PM will proactively evaluate the plans, activities, progress, and key metrics related to the project, identify risks and issues that could challenge delivery or quality, and ensure those risks and issues are either mitigated or resolved.

A Principal Project Manager with the ability to lead multiple projects of varying sizes from inception through final implementation, managing stakeholder relationships throughout.

  • You have a strong background in project management and consistent practices

  • You are passionate about organizing and interpreting project-related data and information

  • You demonstrate a concern for the customer, both internal and external, and work to understand and represent their interests

  • You have an analytical mindset and experience in analysis techniques such as cost/benefit justification and return on investment calculation

  • You partner effectively across a diverse set of stakeholders, both technical and functional, and act as a liaison between these groups

  • You demonstrate the desire to engage in continuous improvement and strive to quantify and measure tangible business results

  • You will understand Xome’s vision and the functional business units’ strategic objectives, and align your projects’ goals to achieve the desired outcomes

Your Charter

  • Define project scope, obtain initial IT estimates, and present to senior management

  • Partner with Finance to establish cost/benefit analysis for key initiatives/programs

  • Communicate, align and partner effectively across lines of business, from end users to senior management, and within the IT organization

  • Assemble the project team, assign tasks, and track individual responsibilities

  • Foster a collaborative work environment in which all team members have a voice

  • Identify appropriate resources needed and develop the project schedule to ensure timely completion of the project with acceptable project outcomes

  • Manage constraints and dependencies to ensure completion of the project on time, within budget, and while maintaining scope

  • Manage the prioritization, change control, and budget tracking processes

  • Proactively identify and plan for ways to overcome project risks, and escalate as needed

  • Maintain project scorecards and steering related information

  • Drive projects to success as defined by the executive sponsor and key stakeholders

What You Have That We Want

  • A track record of gaining trust and respect of others in implementing business solutions in a dynamic business/technology environment

  • Strong communications and presentation skills

  • Strategic, conceptual, and analytical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented

  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques (e.g., proficiency in the utilization of Smartsheet and/or MS Project to manage projects)

  • Experience with Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio)

  • A degree in a technology-related field

  • At least five years of project management experience, preferably in IT

  • Recommended certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
