The Sr. IT QA Analyst is Responsible for participating in the evolution and execution of procedures for ensuring the quality of new features and releases of software. Authors and executes test plans for manual and/or automated tests. Isolates, reproduces and tracks bugs and verifies fixes. Manages and maintains defect and test case databases. Maintains Alpha, Beta and Live-to-Site entry criteria. Assists in the assessment and planning of test efforts required for new functions/features under development.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Review business requirements, functional requirements, and technical specifications of current software development projects
Participate in story grooming and planning reviews, clarifying requirements, understanding design decisions
Convert requirements and specifications into a QA stories and test cases. Review of test plan with peer job families for coverage of software changes being introduced.
Create, review, update and execute automation scripts as required for development, debugging efforts, and regression activity for a release.
Execute test cases, report progress, and determine whether software working to specifications. Document defects and other issues in a timely and accurate manner.
Conduct root cause analysis of identified defects providing Development/Business Analyst partners with sufficient detail to understand, replicate and prevent future occurrences the defect
Document and enter test defect tickets discovered during the test cycle.
Follow up on outstanding issues to meet testing timelines.
Ensure that no defective products are moved to end user testing or production environments without stakeholder approval.
Assist in post-implementation issue review and continuous improvement efforts to enhance system performance.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of automation and testing experience
Knowledge of scripting languages
Good problem solving and coding skills
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions in automation
Experience in testing of .NET, Java, ODM, BPM and Internet/Web Technologies
Experience in writing automation scripts to test REST API and UI
Experience in writing load and performance test scripts is a plus (Microsoft Coded UI, Load Runner or JMeter)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good in database queries
Experience in test automation and test strategy design
Self-motivated, goal oriented and willing to work as a team to meet the team and individual goals on time
