The Mortgage Insurance Manager is responsible for the planning, administrating and managing of the Mortgage Insurance team.  This role is accountable for the development and management of staff, continuous process improvement, vendor management and effective capacity management.  The manager’s accountabilities include ensuring operations leadership and personnel have tools and training to help them meet their quality, compliance and risk management targets as well as productivity thresholds.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for oversight and management of Mortgage Insurance processes, including acquisition of new loans, monthly billing cycle payment and reconciliation to MI vendors
  • Ensure team is in compliance with multiple investor protocols, RESPA, and all state and federal regulations relating to the servicing of mortgage insurance
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with all Mortgage Insurance vendors, FHA and USDA
  • Develop and communicate department and individual goals, policies and strategies to staff
  • Manage offshore provider for workflow activities, ensuring that SLAs are met
  • Responsible for research and resolution of escalated issues
  • Has direct meetings/relationships with varying levels of staff to accomplish MI initiatives which may include cross-departmental projects.
  • Point of contact for system, IT, and Compliance related projects.  Provides specifications, test scenarios and verification of data as it related to IT or Compliance related projects
  • Responsible for managing the incoming new issue findings, remediation plan response and closure, along with detailed, weekly reporting summarizing progress

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 7+ years of directly related Loan Servicing experience. Should be familiar with LSAMS, escrow and mortgage insurance. High school diploma or state approved equivalency required.
