The ideal candidate will have the background experience (or similar applicable experience) to carry out the following position responsibilities:

  • People leadership and development of high performing team supporting vendor risk governance program through recruitment, training, coaching, performance management and related managerial activities
  • Influence processes at business unit and enterprise level relating to vendor management and governance
  • Provide risk management support for staff in key risk identification, measurements, monitoring, control, and reporting
  • Maintain policies and processes that align to applicable regulatory and industry requirements, including the FFIEC, NYDFS, OCC, industry standards, and new technologies and processes, such as Cloud (CSA) and NIST SP 800-53 rev5.
  • Collaborate and consult with cross-functional teams and control partners to achieve risk objectives
  • Participates in and supports exam response for: State/Federal Regulatory Agencies; Servicing Clients; Rating Agencies; and Internal Audit
  • Oversees the preparation of key reports and communications and may present to governance committees, senior leaders, servicing clients, regulatory bodies and Mr. Cooper Board of Directors

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related experience beyond the minimum requirement
  • A minimum of 6 years of risk management, regulatory or operations experience in a relevant functional area to including banking, financial services, audit, public accounting, or other related area
  • A minimum of 3 years direct team lead or management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution management and ability to challenge at all levels of management and influence business outcomes
  • Experience leading and directing work with both internal and external partners in a highly collaborative environment
  • Proactively identified potential risk concerns and follows-up to resolve issues
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Powerpoint

This position is accountable for the risk and control environment and provides effective challenge to internal and external stakeholders to ensure that risk exposure is kept at acceptable levels. Responsible for strengthening operational efficiencies, implementing VRG strategies and risk infrastructure, driving Enterprise value through effective management of all vendor relationships. Primary areas of responsibility are risk assessment and due diligence at onboarding and recertification, ongoing performance monitoring, vendor issues management, Attorney Network Committee Chair, and termination/offboarding.
