The person in this role as a Senior Business Analyst (FP&A) will be a dedicated resource supporting Servicing Operations managing large volumes of financial and non-financial data including analysis and forecasting of mortgage servicing right asset values, mortgage related expenses including amortization expense, P&L and volume reporting & analysis, the identification of cost savings and related process improvement initiatives across the Mortgage Servicing business segment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the division’s financial and non-financial performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.
  • Extract large volumes of data from various databases, analyze and summarize them to derive meaningful trends and reporting to enable management to make sound business decisions.
  • Work independently with various teams across the organization including Servicing Operations, Business Development, Loan Originations, and Quantitative Analytics to gather, analyze, review and report on inter-related data; including the ability to perform exception processing, identify trends, develop the business case, work with IT to implement solutions, improve processes and manage capacity.
  • Maintain and develop various financial and non-financial models and standard templates distributed for use by all of finance during the planning processes, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused analytic review.
  • Support Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) business unit management by being the first point of contact for issues and questions.
  • Research and resolve Business Unit(s) inquiries for assigned functional areas.
  • Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency, implement new process and modeling as necessary, and performance projects as assigned by management

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or a related discipline required (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 3 – 5 years prior work experience
  • Must have strong MS Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
  • Enjoys working in fast paced and highly collaborative environment
  • Detail oriented, proactive, and ability to consistently meet critical monthly deadlines
  • Knowledge of IBM Planning Analytics TM1 and Workday Adaptive Planning a plus
  • Mortgage industry experience a plus
